Publishing Overview
How Appo builds and publishes your app to the App Store and Play Store.
Appo handles the entire build and publishing pipeline. Once your app is ready in the dashboard, Appo builds native binaries and publishes them to the App Store and Play Store on your behalf.
Workflow
- Integrate the SDK — Add
@appolabs/sdkto your web application - Create the app — Provide your website URL in the Appo dashboard
- App preparation — Appo generates your app name, icon, and store listing metadata from your website. Status moves to Ready when complete.
- Preview — Test the app on your device using the dashboard preview
- Publish — Select your target stores (iOS, Android, or both), choose a subscription plan, and confirm
- Review — Apple and Google review the submission
- Live — App available to users
Store Developer Accounts
Publishing to the App Store and Play Store requires two developer accounts in your name (or your company's):
- Apple Developer Program — $99/year
- Google Play Developer Account — $25 one-time
Store fees are not included in the Appo plan. If you don't have these accounts yet, we'll walk you through the setup. Appo then handles the build, code signing, and submission process using your credentials.
Store Listing
Appo auto-generates your store listing metadata (name, description, keywords) from your website content. You can upload screenshots from the dashboard.
Store listing editing is being developed — currently the auto-generated metadata is reviewed and finalized by Appo before submission.
What Appo Handles
- Store listing — Auto-generated from your website, reviewed before submission
- Cloud builds — Native binaries compiled in the cloud
- Code signing — Certificates and provisioning profiles managed automatically
- Store submission — Binaries uploaded and listings created in App Store Connect and Google Play Console using your developer credentials
- Updates — Rebuild and resubmit when you update your app
Subscription
Publishing requires an active Appo plan, selected during the publish flow. See the available plans for details. Subscriptions are managed through the dashboard and billed via Stripe.
